Nerd Block, Jr. — Great Monthly Mystery Box for Kids

06/23/2014 by The Mama Maven

There are fun subscription boxes for just about everything from pet toys to beauty products — as well as many with children’s activities. I am excited to share a new surprise box that is available called Nerd Block, Jr.

For just $13.99 per month you can choose a “boy” or “girl” block shaped box that arrives right on time filled with really fun items. I ordered both boxes and I think many kids will enjoy either gender. The girl’s block that we received toys and treats from My Little Pony, Playmobil, Disney, The Smurfs and more. The full size smurf plush and the full set of mini ponies are worth more than the price of the box so I felt it was a great value. No every item is for everyone but that’s the excitement of a surprise box! The Smurf went to her brother, but she flipped over the ponies which are her current favorite toy.

The boy’s box had items from Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, Star Wars, Matchbox, Sonic and Marvel. My son is a little young to fully enjoy them but my daughter had no problem taking a few of his items for herself! The company suggests kids age 6 – 11 would enjoy the boxes but I’d go as young as four, as I know many four year olds who would love it. Kids older than 11 can switch over to Nerd Block for adults where each order includes a t-shirt in addition to collectibles.

One thing to note is that the boxes are shipped from Canada and thus have to declare the contents on the shipping label. Some children might be able to figure out some of the contents and ruin the surprise but my daughter just ripped it open! If the surprise is important to you I recommend swiping the label with a sharpie or pulling it off. A very minor issue that most families will not be bothered by.
image Nerd Block, Jr. can be ordered at www.nerdblock.com  with an easy to handle checkout and great customer service. The packages ship out on the 15th of every month and they will email to confirm it is on it’s way. I think this is an excellent way to add a little more excitement to summer break! Thank you to Nerd Block for sending samples.
