Circuit Scribe’s STEM Kits: A Fun Introduction to STEM Toys

STEM toys is a new trend that’s not going away anytime soon. For those of you of have never heard of STEM, it is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and math. The reason STEM toys are so popular and only gaining more and more popularity is because they teach kids about these aforementioned subjects in a way that is fun and with no-pressure or stress whatsoever. A great way to introduce your kids to STEM toys is with Circuit Scribe’s kits.

Circuit Scribe is a company that created a pen that writes with conductive silver ink. This means that you can write with the pen and create a circuit! Using the pen is simple: just draw a line with the pen -the ink is non-toxic. Then, place the battery and the modules around it to form a circuit.

We received the Maker Kit for review and my almost-ten-year-old daughter loved it. It took a few minutes to figure out how it all works but once we got it going it was really fun to experiment with the circuit. The Maker Kit ($79.99) is recommended for age 8 and up. My 7.5 year old son wasn’t really interested until we were able to get the lights to work. My daughter, however, was really into it. The kit comes with everything you need, including simple instructions with illustrations.

After we got the red light to turn on we tried using a paper clip as a conductor.

It worked!
