Upcoming Show: Sleeping Beauty at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts

02/17/2013 by Maytal

by Contributing Blogger Maytal Wichman

I have a little girl who’s obsessed with all things princess. Any TV show, live show or book that has the word “princess” in the title becomes her absolute favorite. If you have a princess-obsessed little one at home like I do, be sure to catch “Sleeping Beauty” at Brooklyn College on March 10th. (Read more after the jump)

When a beautiful princess falls under the curse of a wicked sorceress, only the sweet kiss of a handsome prince can save her from eternal slumber. From “once upon a time” to “happily ever after,” American Family Theater’s (AFT) musical tale of fairy godmothers, magic spells, and true love will enchant the entire family. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

AFT is the nation’s premier producer of musicals for families and young audiences, and performs at over 300 venues each year. Their award-winning productions reflect a critically acclaimed commitment to full-scale presentations that involve the skills, talent and creativity of outstanding directors, designers, composers, performers and technical personnel.

Other upcoming family-friendly shows at BCBC include Bash the Trash’s Tales of Anansi on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2pm (all tickets $7 each),and a sing-along screening of the Julie Andrews classic film The Sound of Music on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 8pm (all tickets $15 each).

When: March 10th, 2013 at 2pm

Where: Walt Whitman Theater at Brooklyn College
2900 Campus Road
Brooklyn, NY 11210

Price: $7.00 per ticket

To purchase tickets: Click here or call the box office (718) 951-4500 (Tues-Sat. 1pm-6pm)

I was not compensated for this post. I received complimentary tickets.
