Genteel Lancing Device is A Must for People Living With Diabetes + New Lower Price

02/19/2020 by The Mama Maven

This post is sponsored by Genteel. All opinions are my own.

One of the best products that we’ve found as a family of a child with Type 1 Diabetes is the Genteel Lancing Device. I’ve written about it before and this is something that my son always has with him to check his blood sugar manually. We won’t use any other lancing device. Find out why we love this device and how you can get it for a new lower price!

Genteel is a must for people living with Diabetes + A Lower Price | The Mama Maven Blog

Why Use Genteel Gentle Lancing Device?

The Genteel Gentle Lancing Device really does live up to it’s name. It causes my son less pain and discomfort than other lancing devices because “With its patented Butterfly Touch Technology®, the Genteel® Lancing Device gets test blood from anywhere on the body without pain. Using vacuum, vibration, and depth control, the perfect drop of blood can be drawn, even from the shallowest test site. The lancet only reaches blood capillaries and avoids hitting pain nerves altogether.” As I’ve mentioned before, this is the first lancing device that my son did not run away from, it really is painless. I’ve had to use Genteel Gentle Lancing Device in the middle of the night to check my son’s blood sugar in his sleep and he rarely ever wakes up while I use it.

How the blood draw process workds

While my son does use a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) to monitor his blood sugar continuously, we have to check to make sure it’s correct at least once or twice a day. Plus if my son goes very high or very low, I use Genteel to see if my son really has those blood sugar numbers. Also, we use the Genteel when my son’s GGM is changed to make sure he’s okay during the 2 hour warming up period.

We Always Carry Genteel In His Diabetes Supplies

When my son leaves the house, I always have his Genteel in his Diabetes Supply Pouch, plus some of the contact tips and butterfly lancets. I order the butterfly lancets right from Genteel’s website and I really like using them in the Genteel. I always recommend this to parents of newly diagnosed kids with Type 1 Diabetes because I feel that this is a must have for them.
