Easy Air Fryer Steak Fries (Steak Frites)

02/17/2021 by The Mama Maven

We eat a lot of potatoes in my house. My go-to is steamed in my Instant Pot, but sometime I mash them or cut them up into cubes and roast in my air fryer. I find it really easy to cook potatoes and delicious, but this night I wanted french fries. My daughter had enjoyed some earlier in the day, but I didn’t want the calories of deep fried french fries or the oil from those french fries. So, instead of making baked potatoes, I decides to make steak fries (steak frites) in my trusty air fryer oven. It was easy and absolutely scrumptious! Since my husband has Celiac, practically everything I cook, including these steak fries is gluten free. You’ll only need 3 ingredients for these easy air fryer steak fries (Steak Frites)!

You’ll Need:

Russet potatoes – I used 4 big ones.
Oil spray or oil – I use oil spray like Pompeian because I am trying to watch calories and I had my gallbladder removed in 2018 and a lot of oil bothers my stomach.
Spices of choice (I used rosemary, thyme, Trader Joe’s Vegan Chicken less Seasoning (my new fave), which has turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder and salt).

Instructions

Slice your potatoes into large strips, these don’t have to be perfect.
Then once your potatoes are slices, spray or coat in oil. Make sure they are covered with oil. Sprinkle with spices.

I placed my fries in my Air Fryer Oven and then set it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Check and spray more oil if needed. I found if I spaced them out a little, they cooked more evenly.

After 20 minutes, it needed around 10 minutes more to really make the fries crispy.

Serve!

This totally hit the spot and I loved these steak fries!

I served this with oven roasted chicken drumsticks and steamed broccoli. It satisfied my cravings! If you’re following WW, just count for the potato!
