Starting today, uber is making lives easier for parents in NYC with the launch of uberFAMILY — the service’s new on-demand car seat option that will be available for a $10 surcharge. Finding car service companies that offers a car seat is a rare, so this is big news and perfect for families.
To develop uberFAMILY, Uber NYC teamed up with The Car Seat Lady’s Dr. Alisa Baer, who trained the service’s highest-rated partner drivers on how to safely secure the seats — which were all manufactured specifically for Uber by IMMI.
To celebrate the launch (and Mother’s Day!), they’re kicking things off with a surcharge-free weekend powered by Care.com. Right now this includes only one car seat, but may include more in the future. As a family of 5 with our youngest being 3 1/2, this would be a better way to get to the airport and travel around NYC.
