It was the last week of summer vacation when I got an email from reporter Jen Lahmers, asking me if I could do a tv segment about Target’s new gender sign policy. Because I am a rabid Target shopper, I frantically cleaned my house, took the kids to the park for a quick playdate, and then got back in time to meet the reporter.
The elevator was out, so I sent the kids to my neighbor Valerie’s and did my interview outside. Then we hiked up 5 flights (picking up the kids on the 2nd floor) and they took b-roll as my kids played.
I actually had to stop S. from jumping on the camerman’s back as he was sitting on the couch filming B. and A.
Check out the segment I was in!
And thank you to reporter Jennifer Lahmers and cameraman Tom. Luckily, they didn’t take footage of the rest of our messy apartment (it was the week before Labor Day and we were so ready for the kids to go BACK to school). Fun fact: I actually was a news assistant on Fox5NY’s 10:00 news from 1997-1998. For years, there was B-Roll footage of me sneezing that aired from time to time (and my friends and co-workers recognized me).
