Get a Head Start to the School Year With School Zone Workbooks

06/13/2014 by Maytal

With the school year coming to an end I am ready for summer and all of the fun activities planned, but I am also very much aware of the “summer slide” and having to play “catch up” when the new school year begins. I believe that it is crucial for kids to not only continue to practice what they’ve learned in the past year, but to also learn new things and challenge themselves during the summer months. This is why a good workbook is a summer must-have. School Zone is a company that offers workbooks, flashcards, software and other study aids to help kids learn in a fun way.

I received the “Third Grade Big Workbook” for review. My daughter is going into second grade but I wanted a workbook that’s fitting to her age, rather than grade. The workbook is for ages 8-9 and because she is 7.5 years-old I thought a little bit of a challenge would be good for her. Turns out I was right; my daughter did the first 20 pages easily and after that I started helping her out a little. It was good to see her get a little workout for her brain and try to think a little more than usual. The beauty of it is that you can spend as little as 20 minutes per day and then send your kids off to play. The work is enough to get their brains stimulated.448x448x06314_3-13_p122_c2013.png.pagespeed.ic.Fg6EJvKu2v

The workbook covers skills such as reading and vocabulary, math, writing and critical thinking. There are lots of fun puzzles, colorful drawings and most importantly, each and every activity is explained very clearly so that there is no room for misunderstanding. Of course, I have been supervising her work and watching her closely.

I am excited to watch her learn new things and sharpen her skills as she does more activities in this workbook. I am looking forward to a summer filled with lots of ice cream cones, splashes in the pool and a great workout for the brain which will, no doubt, give my daughter confidence and skills to prepare her for the school year this coming fall.

Click here to purchase the workbook. Price is $12.99. Visit School Zone to learn about other educational products for kids.448x448x06314_3-13_c2013.png.pagespeed.ic.reTXtTEOKU

I was not compensated for this post. I received a sample.
