Picky Eaters: Bento Tools We Love – Making Cheese, Turkey and Apple Shapes for Eating!

After falling in love with the cool things that I saw on Wendolonia.com, I decided to purchase some Bento materials for my picky eater. I knew he would love it if I made him something similar to the soy cheese rockets I saw on her site.

So we purchased a bunch of things from Amazon. A green car egg mold for Bento, Goldfish, Dog, and Car Vegetable Cutters for Bento, Garfield Ice Packs, and a Crayon Insulated Jar.

What I didn’t expect is that my kids would LOVE using the cookie cutters to cut out shapes with cheese and turkey. I also sliced some apples and let them play with them too. My picky eater, Ben, has low muscle tone, so making shapes from the apples was a little harder (and good exercise) for his hands!

My son had so much fun cutting out the shapes that I asked him to cut his own cheese shapes for his next day’s lunch (I prepared everything else). And another bonus is that it got him to eat and love Gouda Cheese! The egg mold I bought (in the shape of a car) went over well. Hardboil an egg and then put it in the mold for a few minutes. The egg is in the shape you put it in. It definitely added a fun dimension to a hard boiled egg. My kids aren’t nuts about them, so I’m not sure I would include on often though.
