PACT Baby: Organic Clothing with a Mission

07/11/2013 by Maytal

by Senior Reviewer Maytal Wichman

Organic clothes are trendy for a reason. They’re toxic-free – perfect for people with allergies and they’re manufactured in an eco-friendly way which also ensures that the workers don’t get exposed to any harmful chemicals. PACT makes organic clothes for adults and has recently launched baby clothes. What makes PACT stand out from other organic clothing manufacturers is that PACT is committed with every clothes line (which comes out every season) to supporting a different cause. They not only donate some of the proceeds, but also incorporate elements of the cause into the clothing line. Here’s how they do it: (Read more after the jump)

PACT develops a clothing line in conjunction with the charity they are donating their proceeds to. In other words, every season they design brand-new clothes just for a specific cause (so they’re limited-edition) and are inspired by that cause. For example, their Fall 2013 line is supporting raising money to help low-income entrepreneurs start their own businesses. So every purchase contributes to a fund that will turn into micro-loans. The patterns reflect certain elements related to that cause, for example, the floral pattern is inspired by autumn flowers that spill from flower stands on street corners.

PACT apparel includes clothing for men and women, such as camisoles, underwear and socks. This July PACT has launched a line for baby clothes which includes onesies (called Snapster Bodysuits), socks and reversible beanies. The clothes are for babies up to 24 months. I recently got a chance to see the collection of the baby items in person and loved the rich, vibrant colors and the softness of the fabric. Organic cotton doesn’t contain pesticides or anything else that could potentially be harmful and all of the clothes are manufactured in sweatshop-free facilities. And the really cool thing (other than supporting great causes) is that some of the adult clothes are made of the same patterns as the baby clothes so you can lounge at home and match your baby! Here is a photo I took which showcases some of the PACT Baby collection:
