We’re gearing up for another cold winter and we plan on staying indoors for the most part and simply enjoying each other’s company. I’m guessing most people will be doing the same so I’ve put together holiday gift ideas for that are perfect for those long weekends indoors. Summer will be here before we know it so let’s hear it for those cozy nights in! Winter is coming and we all need some extra comfort in our lives — we’ve earned it, right? Especially after the last 20 months or so. Here’s our Holiday Gift Guide: 7 Fun Gifts for a Cozy Night In!
Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max $119
Got a hungry crew? With three kids (two of which are hungry teenagers) plus a husband, I find myself spending way more time than I’d like in the kitchen. Whatever I can whip up quickly is always preferable and food that can be made in the air fryer is popular in our house, but my current air fryer only has a 5.8 qt capacity. With Dreo Air Fryer Pro Max, which comes in a family-friendly 6.8 qt size, I can make enough to feed everyone in minutes. I recently made four grilled cheese sandwiches in 8 minutes with minimal work: after preheating the air fryer, I buttered one side of a slice of bread, added shredded cheddar cheese and covered with another slice. I placed the sandwiches in the basket after spraying the non-stick plate in oil and then sprayed oil on top of the four sandwiches. Using the enclosed recipe, I fried them for a total eight minutes. (The air fryer beeped halfway through to remind me to flip the sandwiches and I was also able to turn on the light to check on them occasionally). The sandwiches came out nice and brown and delicious! Crispy on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside.
The Dreo Pro Max is not only big enough to feed the whole family, it has five cooking modes, so you can roast an entire chicken, bake a cake or cookies, broil a steak, make dehydrated fruit and even make yogurt! I also love that the basket comes with a silicone non-stick plate that you can easily remove and wash – it makes cleaning super-quick and so much easier!
iHeart Art set
Wintertime is always a great time to be creative and channel your inner artist. With iHeart Art from Bright Stripes you can find many types of kits for both kids and adults. My oldest and youngest are both into art, but they like to do different types of things. My nine-year-old had a blast with the Paint and Pastel colors kit while my teenager enjoyed getting creative with the Batik Kit. The 24 Gel Pen multi-Pack is perfect for family coloring projects on a snowy day!
Robinson Crusoe, Gulliver’s Travels and Skygazing
Is there anything better than snuggling under a blanket with a good book? I love that my boys love to read but sometimes I wish they would read more books that have substance. Both of the popular classics Robinson Crusoe and Gulliver’s Travels have recently come out in new editions with breathtaking illustrations by Robert Ingpen that are perfect for reading together as a family and are suitable for ages 8 and up. Another book that’s fun to read together is Skygazing – it’s fun facts about the sky in the day and nighttime and science, history literature. My boys especially love that the first half is about the daytime and when you flip the book over, it’s about nighttime, so it’s two books in one!
