I’m a big fan of reading and believe that books should enhance our imagination. Sometimes movies can do that, too. For example, there are movies that deal with fantasy and open up to us an entire world we didn’t know existed before. One such film is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. I recently got to see some exclusive footage from it and got a chance to view a world of soaring imagination. (Read more after the jump)
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is a continuation of the first movie, under the same name, which is based on the best-selling children’s book (also under the same name). In the original story, food falls from the sky and causes people to abandon their homes. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 picks up right where the first film left off. The people responsible for the food mess go back to see what happened and discover that the food has morphed into food-animals hybrids, aka foodimals. Some of the 39 foodimls are shrimpanzees, cheespiders, Tacodiles, Wildebeets, Flamangos and mosquitoasts.
The film is a chock full of puns. If you’re not a fan of puns you will probably get annoyed quickly. I happen to think puns are cute and clever so I was chuckling every other minute or so throughout the screening.
The film boasts the voice talent of Anna Faris, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, James Caan, Benjamin Bratt and and the hysterical Kristen Schaal, (for whom the role of Barb, an orangutan with the brain of a human, was written for).
I only saw some of the footage, but I am looking forward to taking my family to see the movie in is entirety when it comes out September 27th!
I was not compensated for this post. I received a gift bag.
