Review: Big Hero 6

11/08/2014 by The Mama Maven

BH6_Logo_A2 ALT_Red&White_CMYK-FIN_8-30-13_Horiz OnlyBig Hero 6 bounded into theatres today. This original action-comedy-adventure is about a robotics prodigy and a plus-sized inflatable robot, called Baymax, who develop a special bond on a quest to solve an unsettling mystery.

Set in the city San Fransokyo, the main characters are Hiro, his brother, Tadashi, GoGo, Tomago,  Wasabi, Honey Lemon and Fred.

Created by Hiro Hamada’s older brother Tadashi, Baymax is a cutting-edge robot,  who’s designed to take care
of people. He’s filled with compassion.

When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his friends to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called “Big Hero 6.”

Our thoughts: We loved the movie, Baymax was a great character. He was innocent and sweet. The movie was funny and there was a lot of action. There were a couple of sad scenes that may be tough for really little kids. The City of San Fransokyo, was obviously a mix of San Francisco and Toyko into a fantasy city.

We highly recommend Big Hero 6 – great movie, characters were a lot of fun, and there was tons of action.
