NurturMe Baby Food: Convenient Organic Freeze-Dried Food for Your Baby

05/16/2013 by Maytal

by Senior Reviewer Maytal Wichman

As a mom of two young kids and an 8-month-old I’m all about convenience. I try to pack as light as possible and I don’t like too much mess, especially when it comes to feeding my baby. I really can’t take jars because there’s just too much food that the baby doesn’t end up eating and I end up throwing them out. NurturMe has baby food that comes in small pouches that is just the right amount and they are so convenient, I just throw one in my purse when I’m on the go. (Read more after the jump)

Nurturme non-GMO baby food that comes in pouches and it’s in the form of a powder. It is either freeze-dried or drum-dried. Freeze dried does not involve any heat application, while in drum-drying, the product is first ground to a puree, then flash cooked for 30-60 seconds and finally air dried on large drums. The result is a higher preservation of nutrients and chemicals and a better taste. I received some pouches of NurtureMe NurtureMeals in a variety of flavors for review. My son loved all but the squash. His favorite was Carrots, Raisins and Sweet Potatoes, but he also enjoyed the Crisp Apples and Crunchy Carrots as well as the Peas, Quinoa and Apples. He clearly has a sweet tooth and I was so pleased with the portions. It seemed perfect for him – he gobbled it all up and I didn’t have to worry with having to store it, like I do with jars.

My favorite aspect about NurturMe is how easy it is to make them: just add the content into a small jar and then add some water (or breatsmilk) and mix. This means you can control how thick or thin you want it to be. It’s perfect for visiting friends’ houses or restaurants (just ask the waiter for a small bowl or a soup bowl, or you can use a plastic cup). The pouches are small and barely weigh anything, so you don’t have to worry about carrying glass jars that can break. I make sure to always keep a pouch in my purse for emergencies.

You can purchase NurturMe products online.

I was not compensated for this post. I received samples.

Sorry, please contact them directly as this review was done a while ago. It looks like their social media has not been active in a year. I found this email. Good luck!
