We are nuts about Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you haven’t checked it out yet — the three main characters (Kimmy, Titus, and Jacqueline) are resilient and have reinvented themselves to make it in the Big Apple. We’re a little obsessed with the show. Here’s what I wrote about Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt last week – https://www.themamamaven.com/2015/03/08/unbreakable-kimmy-schmidt-inspires-my-unbreakable-moments/. And a lot of our kids’ favorite characters show some of these qualities.
Movies and TV can show kids that just because you may be quiet and shy today, that doesn’t mean you can’t be Superman tomorrow. Let kids see a new side of themselves, even if it’s not permanent — after all, you can do anything for 10 seconds. (Thanks for the wise words, Kimmy.)
For Your Little Kids
For Your Big Kids
And for teens and parents:
For my personal fave, I’m going to have to go with Dirty Dancing. Baby changes herself that summer and becomes stronger. The rose colored glasses she’s been wearing fall away. And she becomes unbreakable!
