Enjoying Lucky Charms Cereal as our Weekend Breakfast Treat

06/11/2017 by The Mama Maven

Lucky Charms Cereal by General Mills is a weekend breakfast treat for my family. During the week we’re so rushed that my kids don’t eat breakfast at home, they are lucky enough to be able to go in early and eat at school. On the weekends we can slow down, appreciate each other, and eat breakfast as a family. I consider sitting down and enjoying Lucky Charms with my family as my treat too. I love that we can all be together.

It all starts with a trip to Walmart to pick up Lucky Charms Cereal. We try to have fun when we grocery shop because it just makes it easier with kids. We sing, we dance around, and yep — we get some looks from other customers.

Each kid will tell me their favorite marshmallow shape (it changes every week) and we pour a big bowl of Lucky Charms and talk about our week. It’s a moment to enjoy Lucky Charms Cereal, as well as bonding time. No problem seems too big while we sit together and enjoy our Lucky Charms.
Sometimes I serve their Lucky Charms with toast and orange juice, sometimes I serve it with scrambled eggs, pancakes, or yogurt. It serves as our official weekend kick-off and we try to follow it up by doing something very active as a family, like

Little rituals like having Lucky Charms Cereal together has helped my family enjoy being with each other and I am grateful we found something to start that.

Usually, by the time I open the box, my kids are already at the table, with a big smile. I’m one lucky mama!

As far back as I can remember, everyone loves Lucky Charms. My children had them as kids and now my grandkids love to have Lucky Charms for a snack besides breakfast.

LOL! What a cute and fun family tradition you’ve got going on – love it!! My 4 year old loves lucky charms, but he tends to only eat the marshmallows… whomp whomp…

Lucky Charms is a favorite in our home too. You’ll even catch me with ziplock bags of it in my purse for a quick snack on the run!

I don’t know who likes Lucky Charms more in my house. My husband or the kids! All I know is that the box only last one table sitting and it disappears.
