HICKIES Lacing System for Kids and Adults: Never Tie Laces Again

07/31/2017 by The Mama Maven

This post is sponsored by HICKIES. As always, all opinions are my own.

When you’re a bigger kid like my almost 12-year-old is, you need to look cool. Going around with untied or horribly knotted shoe laces isn’t that attractive. Plus, certain kids (like my son) have a hard time tying their laces. So, what’s a modern mom to do? She gets HICKIES for her kid and then realizing how amazing they are, uses the adult version for herself.

You may remember we teamed up last year with HICKIES for a fun giveaway, but we actually didn’t try them out. Big mistake — they are amazing! You may think — why is it amazing? While my kid does tie his sneakers, it’s hard for him. He has hand issues and receives occupational therapy. We still taught him how to tie his laces, is it really so important that he needs to keep struggling?

But more frankly, he’s a kid —  and there are times when I have to step in and untangle his laces so he can actually re-tie them again. I’d rather put the time and effort into something else and relax on the shoelaces issue. With HICKIES, I can do just that. This gave him the confidence he needed and let me worry about many other things. Plus, they look cool!

HICKIES Elastic Lacing System can turn any pair of sneakers into convenient, comfortable, and stylish slip ons that are perfect for any activity from recess play to Mom and Dad’s triathlons. For me, I usually tie my sneaker laces and then double knot them so I can slip them on and off. Which means that I’m not getting the proper support that I need since they are sometimes too loose.

HICKIES sent my son his first pair of Converse Sneakers and he played with HICKIES to see if he understood how they worked.

Here’s a video on how HICKIES works that we made recently. My son tells you how to put HICKIES on sneakers.

I liked HICKIES so much after my son tried them that I asked him to put the adult HICKIES on my sneakers.

Features:

Works in any shoe with eyelets.
One size fits all.
Elastic material keeps shoes secure and comfortable.
Never tie again! Play uninterrupted.
Fun look, without messy knots and bows.
Adjustable tightness. See How >>
Quick and easy—simply slip on and off.

Watch the video above to see how to put HICKIES on your sneakers!
