Air Fryer Breaded Chicken Cutlets (Gluten Free)

Breaded chicken cutlets are a favorite in our house. If you are following a gluten free diet, you can still enjoy this! Just use gluten free breadcrumbs and make sure you don’t cross contaminate. If you are gluten frere, try 4C Gluten Free Premium Seasoned Bread Crumbs. I’ve gone back and forth between using mayo and eggs to coat my chicken cutlets in the past, but decided to use eggs this time. I was so excited to make gluten free air fryer breaded chicken cutlets and I think you’ll be thrilled too! They were out of this world!

Gluten Free Air Fryer Breaded Chicken Cutlets

I used 4C Gluten Free Seasoned Breadcrumbs instead of regular bread crumbs to make this gluten free. Note: there is Pecorrino Cheese in this. If you have dairy issues and are sensitive to cheese, select the plain gluten free breadcrumbs and add your own spices (and either used plant based cheese or leave it out).

You’re going to need:

Chicken Breasts – I used a big package and made 3/4 of it.
1 can of 4C Gluten Free Seasoned Breadcrumbs – note: there is Peccorino Cheese in this. If you have dairy issues and are sensitive to cheese, select the plain gluten free breadcrumbs and add your own spices.
4 eggs
Oil Spray – I like this brand
Parchment paper and/or tinfoil on pans to keep yourself organized
Your air fryer — I have this one.

Instructions:

Set up a little assembly line with your beaten eggs, gluten free breadcrumbs and something to place your gluten free breaded chicken on. The raw chicken, thinly sliced should be right near you.

Assembly line to make your chicken

Dip your chicken breast in the eggs, then dip in the gluten free breadcrumbs and coat thoroughly. Place each piece of chicken on your parchment paper. I like to complete all my breading and then place in my air fryer (so I can clean up).

chicken on foil

Figure with an air fryer, since it’s smaller than your oven, it will take around 3-4 batches to get all your chicken air fried. If you have a basket air fryer, it should take just as long (and you should shake them a little).

Start way before you want to serve your gluten free breaded chicken. I start at 5ish to have dinner on the table by 6:30.
Cook your chicken around 390 or 400 for around 20 minutes, flip over and cook for another 10 minutes. With chicken, I always cut open a few pieces to make sure it’s cooked (there’s nothing worse than uncooked chicken!).
Serve!

GF Chicken Cutlets (Air Fryer)

This would go great with a my Instant Pot Brown Basmati Rice or my Yukon Gold Roasted Potatoes – just make the potatoes before your gluten free breaded chicken in your air fryer! For a veggie, I like to serve garlic sautéed spinach.

Why do I like making chicken cutlets in my air fryer?

Simple. You don’t need to fry them to make them taste good. I have the Emeril 360 Air Fryer and it’s amazing.

It does so many things and I love the way food comes out. I had gallbladder issues and I have to watch use of oil. I use oil spray and my air fryer and my food tastes fried (but I don’t get all that oil in my stomach and its much healthier without using oil).
