Mom-Must-Have: An Ingenius Hat with a Built-In Flashlight

Here at The Mama Maven we’re always on the lookout for products that make life as a parent a little easier. When we come across something that looks cool we test it out and write about the results so I was really excited when I came across the Powercap from Panther Vision. Up until now, when I needed light in a room where someone was sleeping I just used my phone or a flashlight. It wasn’t until I actually tried on the Powercap that I realized that sometimes it’s nice to have both hands free.

I recently received the solar Powercap for review. Using it is simple: just put it on and press a button. I have been wearing it in the past few weeks and have found so many uses for it. Here are just a few:

Reading in a dark room
Looking for something in my bedroom when hubby is sleeping
Checking on the baby in the nursery
Picking up toys in my kids’ room while they’re sleeping

What’s really cool about it, though, is that it’s charged by sunlight so you never have to change batteries, ever. If you charge it for 8 hours of direct sunlight it provides you with over 21 hours of light. It has auto shutdown after 15 minutes. The solar Powercap comes in grey, maroon, olive and tan and is made of 100% polyester microfiber. It can make a great holiday gift for a mom who could use a little help. It is also great for emergencies if there’s a power outage. The solar Powercap is $39.99.

Here are some other hats I love:

This running hat is $29.99

I also love this hat from the General Use collection: ($19.99)

If hats aren’t really your thing, try these reading glasses. Lightspecs are lighted reading glasses that are perfect for reading late at night. These are $29.99.4002_0928_WendyJason_Lightspecs_LRVisit Panther Vision to learn more.

I was not compensated for this post. I received a sample.
