The summer heat is starting to get to us here in New York with temperatures in the 80’s and high humidity levels. We’ve still got an entire summer ahead of us and even though I, for one, would rather stay indoors with the AC blasting, I’ve got kids to entertain and I want to make sure I minimize sun damage to my skin. Coolibar is a great company for garments that provide protection – no less than UPF 50+. This means you’ve got 98% coverage from the harmful rays of the sun and with such a large selection of items and styles, you’re bound to find something that fits your own style. Here are some of my favorite products for moms. Who says you can’t look good in the sweltering heat?!
Beach Comber Sun Hat, $36
This gorgeous hat is wide enough to provide sun protection and has a string so it doesn’t fly away in the wind. It’s sturdy and holds its shape and comes in a neutral color that looks great with your swimsuit or summer dress.
Coastline Cover Up Dress – Navy Geo Ikat, $89.50
This dress doubles as a swimsuit cover-up and a cute little anytime dress that’s light enough for the summer hear but with long sleeves to give ample coverage from the sun. It dries quickly and has a removable belt.
Maxi Skirt – Print, $75
Smith Serpico Slim Sunglasses, $119.50
These sunglasses have a carbonic tapered lens technology so they reduce distortion and glare. They provide 100% protection from UVA/UVB rays.
Updated Ruche Swim Shirt – Icon Ikat, $89.50
This swim shirt gives maximum coverage in the water and comes in a number of patterns, including solids. It’s also available in petite and plus sizes.
Pareo Cover Up – Navy Geo Ikat, $49.50
This beach-ready pareo is perfect for vacations. You can wear it as a dress or a skirt and it’s wrinkle-resistant, so it travels well.
