CityMD Delivers Urgent Care Quickly and Smartly

09/10/2017 by The Mama Maven

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of CityMD  for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

We had a very recent health emergency with my oldest child. After things calmed down, it made me think about my own health. What would I do if I got sick right now? I can’t leave my son for long amounts of time until we get his Type 1 diabetes care under control and I know I get sick when I get really stressed. I started thinking about the best options for my own care and CityMD just made sense — it’s a leading urgent care provider dedicated to delivering efficient, state-of-the-art medical care with a uniquely personalized, patient-centric approach. Plus, it’s close to my home.

I visited the nearby location last year when I had a virus and couldn’t get to my own doctor. While I love my internist, her office is a 20-minute drive away. I don’t have a car during the week and her office isn’t open on weekends anyway, which is when I was sick and needed to be seen. At CityMD,  I was treated promptly and professionally. I walked out with an antibiotic prescription, which made me feel much better. It’s also close to my apartment and I can easily get there by the NYC subway (one stop on the E train!). Kids are treated also.

CityMD Urgent Care was founded in 2010 by a group of Emergency Medicine physicians who decided it was time for healthcare to evolve by providing convenient, efficient, high-quality care for all. Serving every patient with respect and genuine kindness is the philosophy that has helped grow the company from one Manhattan location to over 70 (and counting) locations throughout the greater New York area and Seattle.

So what can you expect when you go to CityMD? You check in and use the digital kiosk to give your information. You enter your info once and you are registered at all the locations. It was so much better than filling out tons of forms every time you go to your doctor’s office. The CityMD location is bright and clean, with comfortable chairs.

I was surprised how quickly I was seen by a doctor! I was also surprised how kind the staff and doctor were – their motto is “building communities by serving kindness.” I was seen, treated, and released very quickly, which really pleased me. I wasn’t just a number. I’ve spent time in Emergency Rooms, waiting to be seen – this was a much better experience.

When you go to the CityMD website, it asks your location and tells you the closest 6 locations. They offer a wide scope of care, including pediatric care, physicals, and they can handle sprained ankles, injuries, and many other issues. You can even get your flu shot there. Need an X-ray? Get it done right at CityMD. They also take most insurances – please check their website to see if they take yours.

I love the idea of a kiosk to enter in all your info!! Last night we just went to urgent care for my husband, and the paper work is always such a pain!

With all the online options for medical care, the office environment needs to step up their game and it looks like this one has done it!

This looks like a really nice place to have when situations arise and you need care. I wish they had more places like this near us. 🙂

I am so sorry that your son has Diabetes 1. That must be such a stress on him and you. I am glad that you found an urgent care clinic close by, that can take care of you, if you need it.

    Blessings

This places are so very important. You never know when an emergency can happen. We have had our share of visits to the ER and we are so grateful to have medical resources nearby.
