A Favorite Holiday Tradition: Dances Patrelle’s A Yorkville Nutcracker

11/15/2018 by Maytal

The holidays are all about traditions – continuing the ones you grew up with and making some of your own. This year add Dances Patrelle’s The Yorkville Nutcracker to your holiday bucket list. This dazzling performance, complete with elaborate sets and costumes, is an homage to The Big Apple. Nothing is spared in this family-friendly show and you’ll be blown away by the talent, both of the professionals and the kids! A Favorite Holiday Tradition: Dances Patrelle’s A Yorkville Nutcracker

This year marks the 23rd anniversary of The Yorkville Nutcracker, set in 1895, which includes lavish sets and costumes and takes the audience on a tour through Olde New York’s most beloved landmarks, including a holiday party at Gracie Mansion, dancing at the Crystal Palace in the New York Botanical Garden, and skating in Central Park. The Yorkville Nutcracker provides an opportunity for young dancers to dance alongside professional artists. This year, Abi Stafford of New York City Ballet will be the Sugar Plum Fairy with Cavalier Ask La Cour (principal dancer, New York City Ballet), and Maximillien Baud and Therese Wendler will perform the Snow Pas de Deux.
