It’s not easy to get toddlers to sit still through a classical music concert but if you have a little one at home and want to introduce him or her to classical music, Peter & the Wolf at the Guggenheim Museum is the perfect “starter concert”. Narrated by the charismatic (and hysterical) Isaac Mizrahi, this 30-minute performance features dancers and a live orchestra and is appropriate for kids ages 5 and up. Mizrahi is not only the narrator; he is also the director and costume designer. Choreography is by John Heginbotham. Music is by Ensemble Signal, conducted by Brad Lubman (Dec. 1 and 2) and Oliver Hagen (Dec. 7,8,9). This show is a real treat, not only because of the charming story, but also because this particular interpretation is especially endearing; the famous, catchy melodies by Prokofiev come to life and, of course, Mizrahi steals the show with his charm and wit.
