My kids love to look at pictures of themselves when they were just born. I try to explain to them how incredible and special their birth was and whenever I look for ways to explain abstract things to my kids (especially my youngest, who just turned four) I almost always turn to books. I found a really cool book called On the Day You Were Born, from I See Me, a company which makes adorable personalized books for kids. The book is the perfect way to make your child feel special and loved.
On the Day You Were born talks about the very day and time that your child was born and includes beautiful illustrations. It discusses how earth itself celebrated the birth of your child and various things that happened on earth that day that are a part of nature. For older kids, at the end of the book there’s description and explanation of the forces of nature such as the moon, gravity, tides, stars and migrating animals.
You can personalize the hardcover book by including your child’s name, along with the date, time and place of birth. You can also include a picture, which I highly recommend, as it will appear in both the front and back of the book. There’s also room for a short dedication. You can put in the details and then flip through the book to see how it will come out with the personalization.
I see Me has many other book that celebrate kids’ birthdays.
