You can get weather alerts from NOAA weather radio. The two way radio has an emergency alert button to send out distressed calls. It is compatible with all other FRS/GMRS two-way radios, regardless of brand so you can communicate with your community. It has up to 35 miles range in mountain to valley region, up to 6 miles in open water and up to 1 mile in the neighborhood.
