As fitness is an ongoing goal for myself, I’ve been testing out the Shine for the past month (I’m a member of Best Buy’s Wolf Blogger Program) and I am digging it. This little device has changed my life.
At first glance, you may not to know what to make of it. You’re not going to see how many steps you’ve walked.. etc.. But when you download the app and sync it with your shine, it’s brilliant. Shine is about the size of a quarter. You can put it in a band (with a silicone sports band, a leather band, attach it to a small piece of silicone with a magnet clip, or put it on a necklace (which is new). I clipped it onto my bra with the magnet clip and I was pretty pleased how well it stayed on. It did fall off (and luckily fell underneath our bed and clipped onto a small dumbbell – which was funny).
Activities: Swimming, Biking, Tennis,
Water-resistant for swimming
Dimensions: Width 27.5mm x Depth 3.3mm x Height 27.5mm with a weight of 9.4g.
Extra Accessories (includes Magnet clip), Leather Bands, Sport band, and Necklace. It runs on a coin cell battery which lasts about 4 months. The batteries are pretty reasonable to replace and you don’t have to make sure you charge the device (which makes things easier).
Syncing the Shine with Your Device:
Shine basically syncs itself. Just put it on your device and it will automatically sync. What I really loved is the sleep tracker. I am a poor sleeper (I have sleep apnea), so it was really helpful to see my sleep patterns.
I also loved the activity tracker. While I probably didn’t save the most active day to show you… I really liked having a record of what I did (fitness wise).
To get your sleep monitored or do special activities like sports and swimming, tap it three times. If you want to see the time and the daily stats, double tap Shine. It will automatically log activities like walking or running.
Shine is exclusively available in additional colors at Best Buy including Silver, Black, Champagne and Topaz.
