Pablo’s Picks: Why you need a COOL COAT! #Pets #hotweather

09/12/2012 by The Mama Maven

By Pablo, our resident canine expert. If you’re just clicking onto this blog, you may not know we have a canine reviewer named Pablo, who is a minature pincher. He barks his reviews to his mom, Jenny, who types them up.

Hi- Pablo here again. Ready to review another amazing product! For the past week or so, I have been testing out a Cool Coat, which you can find here. Those of you who know me well may recall that I do agility, I love to play outside and I get hot and dehydrated more often than my mom would like. So, she set out on a mission to rectify the problem… (Read More after the jump).

This is what she found A COOL COAT by MustLuvDogs. It’s really fashionable and well made. It is durable, comfortable and easy to use. It uses evaporative cooling to prevent overheating.

We have had an incredible customer service experience while testing this product, which is really important. I am a hard fit since I have a really small neck (10″) and a broad chest (17″). The first coat was too big and Valerie at MustLuvDogs really went the extra mile to figure out why and then sent a smaller size for me to test.

Ease of use is really important and this passes that test with flying colors- you just submerge and soak in water and then wring it out before putting it on. The first night I tried it, I fell asleep immediately after my mom helped me put it on. Tonight, when a big storm was approaching, I was wearing it and I was calm and sleepy- not running around the house like a frantic madman.

After a long session at the dog run the other day running through my agility tunnel, the old hot, tired, panting Pablo was gone and the new, relaxed, cool to the touch Pablo was sporting his Cool Coat home from the park. This is a must have for agility and for dogs that get overheated easily.

The only small concern I had was that I have been wearing it over my harness since there is no hole for it to go through. This week I am going to see if I can get it to fit under my harness which will help with the cooling (which already seems to last for a number of hours!) I asked Valerie about this and it is partly for aesthetics and partly since it is intended to be be worn under your harness. Also, a lot of dogs did not want a new coat with a big hole in it.

One more important thing to remember- when your Cool Coat dries, it will become stiff. DO NOT WORRY- A dunk in the water will bring it right back to life!

    Hi Pablo,

We are so pleased you are enjoying the cool down benefits your MustLuvDogs Cool Coat provides! Thank you for taking your coat for a test spin, especially around your agility course!

What a smart Mom you have to hear she had you wear your cool coat during a storm. It is great to know that your coat served double duty and helped relax you during the storm. What a fantastic idea… You taught me something new! You are one smart pooch!

We have many agility dogs, sporitng dogs and pets like yourself who own Cool Coats and wouldn’t be caught outside on a hot day without them. We are very happy to learn that you gave this a 2 paws up review!!

Thank you soo much! Now you can enjoy hot weather without overheating as it is now a thing of the past! Woof Woof!!!
