Learned it on Netflix

07/21/2016 by The Mama Maven

Can your kids learn from TV, specifically Netflix? Yes! Maybe your kids love Octonauts, Project Mc2, The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show or Chef’s Table —  it can teach your family some awesome tidbits of knowledge.

My little guy is NUTS about the Cat in the Hat. PBS KIDS’ The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That, which we stream on Netflix, helps him learn while he sees his favorite cat.

We also watch a lot of science like Walking With Dinosaurs and Wild Kratts.

While my kids LOVE superhero shows, shows like Rescue Bots team helping and empathy. My Little Pony is actually excellent for teaching friendship and caring My boys will watch this with their sister and get into it as much as she does.

Netflix shows can teach our families some Trivial Pursuit-worthy stuff (it doesn’t always have to be science and math).

Did you know?

Watch together, learn together. These six fun facts found on Netflix are sure to impress.

Have you heard? It’s a Word Party!

From the Jim Henson Company and Thirty Million Words Initiative, the new Netflix original Word Party follows Kip, Franny, Lulu and Bailey as they learn new words that will help their vocabulary grow. Word Party allows for parents to watch along with their little ones while fostering a fun and easy learning environment for everyone and encouraged to celebrate their Word Party afterwards with the whole gang.
