Bright Starts is Having a Ball – and So Will Your Baby!

03/01/2012 by Maytal

by Guest Blogger Maytal Wichman

There is something magical when you watch a baby as she is looking at a ball spin or pop up in the air…her eyes light up and you can tell she is living in the moment, which, to her, is pure delight!

Bright Starts’ “Having a Ball” Collection aims to do just that – delight babies, with their colorful, musical toys that are all about balls, balls and more balls! At a recent event I was able to preview their current collection which I found both charming and innovative. There is an adorable activity table that pops out balls and a truck where you can drop a ball inside and watch it spin around, among other toys. The collection is currently available at Toys R Us and will also be available at Target this coming spring.

I recently received the Alphabet Pop Top for review. Appropriate for children ages 6-36 months, this is a toy with a plunger that you push for silly sounds and music, with blinking lights. Kids can also press buttons and learn ABC’s, colors, objects and more. I tried the Alphabet Pop Top with a friend’s five-and-a-half month old baby. She doesn’t sit on her own yet but she was mesmerized by the music and movement of the spinning balls. She was able to grab a ball with her hands and was very curious about the toy. ($17.99, available at Toys R Us).

Also available are Giggables, little animal-themed balls that make silly electronic sounds as they roll across the floor and are suitable for children ages 6-36 months. ($6.99 each, available at Toys R Us).

Be sure to look out for some more exciting toys from the “Having a Ball Collection” next fall.

I was not paid for this post. I did receive the Alphabet Pop Top for review purposes.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature as well as a Law Degree, but writing about nutrition and helping families eat better is her true passion. She grew up in both California and Israel, which explains her love for California cuisine (fresh, local ingredients), as well as Mediterranean food (flavorful, heart-healthy ingredients). Maytal is a stay-at-home mom to two kids (ages 5 & 2) and works hard to ensure they eat healthy, unprocessed food, while trying to make it as delicious as possible. Married to a vegetarian and being a pescetarian herself, this can be quite a challenge. On an ordinary night at her dinner table, you can hear things like “More cauliflower, please!”, “How come I didn’t get a lot of tomato?” and “Fish oil! Yaaaay!”.
