Discovery Kids Toys: Unique Toys for Creative Kids

Although I’m not too happy about it, my toddlers watch mostly cartoons these days, so I’m looking forward to when they get a little older and watch shows on the Discovery Channel to broaden their horizons. The Discovery Channel offers some amazing toys that provide unique hands-on experience for children of all ages. I recently attended an event that showcased one-of-a-kind toys that encourage creativity and are available now, as well as toys that will be available just in time for the holidays. Here are a few that are available now.

Build Your Own Clock – What a fantastic way to teach your kids about telling time – have them build a clock first! Ages 6 and up; Price: $19.99

Build Your Own Rock N’ Radio – Imagine how proud your kids will be when they can sit in the car and listen to their own AM/FM stations and be able to tell their friends: “I made that!” Ages 8 and up. Price: $19.99

Build Your Own Robo Pup – This adorable puppy is activated by clapping hands or touching his head and he can walk, bark or wag its tail. Ages 6 and up. Price: $29.99

Build Your Own Recycle Paper Factory – Here’s a cool way about teaching kids the importance of recycling: have them recycle their own paper. They can even design and decorate it! Ages 8 and up. Price: $29.99

At the event I also saw some really cool toys and gift ideas that will be out in October:

Create Your Own Lemonade Stand – What a fun way to teach your kids about running a business! Over 40 stickers are included and as a special bonus, the back side is a Cookie stand! Ages 3 and up. Price: $19.99. .

Build & Play Construction Fort – I love toys that encourage kids to use their imagination and this toy provides endless possibilities for kids to create anything they want. Ages 5 and up. Price: $19.99. Available at CVS, Kohls, Toys R Us and many other stores in October.

Activity World Map – Learning about world geography is fun with this map: just hang it on the wall and use the Velcro pieces to label the different countries and regional animals. Ages 3 and up. Price: $29.99. Available at Walmart, CVS, Kohl’s, and other stores in October.

Knight Play Castle – This sun indoor/outdoor castle comes with a carrying case and can be a perfect complement to princess pretend-play. Ages 4 and up. Price: $19.99. Available at JC Penny, Belk and Steinmart in October.

I was not compensated for this post.
