So I did it. I got the iPhone 12 Pro Max as my birthday present to myself. And I LOVE IT. But, when you upgrade to a new phone, you need accessories — especially since the iPhone 12’s don’t take the Lightning to USB anymore, it works with the Lightning to USB-C cables. It’s a big difference, but means that I needed more cords, a new car charger, new adapters, and new portable charger, as most of what I have is not USB-C friendly. I do have a Macbook Pro 2018, so I did have one cable that works with it, plus several adaptors. But I definitely needed to make some purchases. I’m going to tell you what I bought, complete with links so you can buy what you want. Here are some choices for the best accessories for your iPhone 12 Max Pro.
A Case
I always get a good case (and insurance), since my iPhone 4S got run over the second day I had it, back in 2011. I usually recommend a Spigen, Otterbox, or Lifeproof. The Spigen one I bought doesn’t seem to be on Amazon right now, so I think this one would be great.

Screen Protector
I like to get something with blue light and anti-glare protection.
Cables:
Cables — oh, you need multiple cables! My iPhone 12 Max Pro only came with one cable (and no charging brick or headphones). My go-to cable is usually from either Anker, Aukey, or Apple, so I picked up a few of these from Amazon.

Car Charger:
I purchased a USB-C car charger from Aukey via Amazon. It’s tiny and I liked that it also had a USB port also (as my husband and kids use Lightning to USB Chargers).

Phone Holder
If you’re going to use your phone for directions, you should have a phone holder so you can see as well as hear Siri give you directions. It makes a big difference. We love anything MPow too (I own several products from them, including headphones –
Portable Chargers
While I’m not traveling as much as I normally would be, portable chargers have saved me from a dead battery many a time. Problem? Almost all the chargers I have don’t have a USB-C port so I can charge my new iPhone 12 Max Pro. Enter this one.
