Meano Babies Has the Cure for the Sweaty Kid in the Stroller

08/10/2015 by The Mama Maven

by New Contributor Jennifer Babich —

Playing outside, Evenings at the pool, and drippy ice cream cones are just some of the things that pop into my mind when I think of warm summer days.  Since I became a mom a new term has been added to that list- sweaty babies! Long summer walks and trips out to the beach are fun for everyone, but most of us have experienced that moment that we prefer to delete out of the day when we take the baby out of the car seat or stroller and ask ourselves  “is the diaper leaking”?  We soon discover that in fact the baby is actually all sweaty. All of those awesome strollers and car seats designed to keep baby cozy and comfy all winter long do not do the best job of keeping the same baby cool in the summer. Meeno Babies has come up with a great solution to this!

They have created a “Cool Mee” Seat Liner Collection designed of soft, breathable layers  to wick away moisture from the baby’s skin.  The liners are constructed of 3-ply mesh material to help air flow between the baby and the seat while adding an extra layer of cushiony comfort.

There are three types of liners to accommodate babies of all sizes. There is one for the bucket seat to keep those under a year cool, as well as stroller liners for bigger babies and toddlers. The Cool Mee liners boast a universal design that will fit on five point harness seats and an adjustable head rest to ensure a secure fit with whichever car seat you use. Editor’s note: While Meano Babies offers car seat liners, this voids manufacturer’s warranties on your car seat, so we would not recommend them.

I received a stroller liner from Meeno Babies to review, in an attractive light pink which I was thrilled to put in my daughter’s gender neutral black City-Mini stroller.  I was pleasantly surprised by how simple it was to put the liner onto my stroller.  It was quite easy to fit over the straps and I was able to pull all the pieces of the 5 point harness through the slots in the liner.

My daughter was comfortable sitting on the liner and did not seem to notice it at all. It did not bunch up while she was sitting or when she fell asleep. I was really eager to see the impact it would have on her sweating as she suffers from heat rash and eczema on her back and keeping her cool is one way to keep this ailment at bay. When I took her out of the stroller I did feel that her back was noticeably dryer. I also put her in the stroller at the pool.  She was placed in the stroller in a soaking wet bathing suit and I was thrilled that the liner dried so quickly! Although this is not the main purpose of the line,r it is certainly an added bonus and a much preferred situation to having a wet stroller!

The only source of contention was when my daughter was wriggling to get out of her stroller or fighting me to go in. The liner which was so east to put on is also very easy to remove and I was suddenly dealing with a bunched up liner tangled up with a fussy baby.

Meeno Babies has a great product on their hands. It looks great, is soft to the touch, washes easily in the washing machine and does a decent job keeping baby a bit drier in the summer. I love that the added layer of protection it gives the stroller against spills.  I can imagine I will appreciate it during potty training!

Thank you to Meeno Babies for sending a product sample. All opinions are my own.
