Review: Commander in Chief 3 in 1 Board Game

04/08/2012 by Julie T.

Do you need a gift for a military -minded, chess loving person? A new 3-in-one military themed board game is now available. Commander in Chief is a game that includes 30 military toys for the ultimate strategy war game for the ages.
Play checkers or chess on the traditional game board lay-out or flip the board over for the Commander–in-Chief battlefield land and sea design for capturing your opponent through the air, on land and in the sea. Multiple game play options are available so make it a family or group game by forming teams. A Basic Training game rules guide with pictures of piece placement is included, as well as 2 quick start guides for each player or team for reference if needed.
When my boys saw the box to this game could not wait to open it. First, they love playing with the black or silver pieces by themselves and creating battles on the floor, without the board. Each player gets 4 amphibian pieces, 2 tanks, 2 fighter jets, 2 helicopters, 2 submarines, 1 destroyer, 1 bomber and a Commander. The pieces can be painted to add color and detail. We have played tic-tac-toe and checkers with the pieces on the game board so far. Tackling chess and the Commander-in-Chief Strategy games are soon to come.

The US Armed Forces and Military are partners with this game. The American History Museum of the Smithsonian Institution sells this game and each game sold donates $1 to the Armed Services YMCA.

This award winning game is available on the website and various stores for $39.99 and is suitable for anyone ages 6+.

Commander-In-Chief has won five industry awards:

Dr. Toy Best Classic Toy

The Toy Man Recommends Award

The Toy Man eChoice Award

The Toy Man Award of Excellence

The Toy Man Award of Recognition
