Recap: R Baby Foundation Concert — Rockin’ to Save Babies’ Lives

Last week I had the extreme pleasure of attending R Baby Foundation Concert to save Babies’ Lives.

A year and a half ago, I became an R Baby Mom, appearing in their PSA. If you’re not familiar what R Baby is, here’s a short summary:

R Baby Foundation was founded after Phyllis and Andrew Rabinowitz lost their newborn daughter because she contracted an enteroviral infection that can be life threatening in babies. If her symptoms had been treated, she may still been here today. So heartbreaking to hear. The R Baby Foundation is dedicated to “helping newborn babies, primarily those less than a month old suffering from viral infections and other infectious diseases, receive the highest quality of care and service through supporting education, research, training and life-saving equipment.”

At the concert, stars such as Great Big World, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Mary Lambert, alternative rock musician Ryan Star and Columbia recording artist DJ Cassidy, this special event will directly fund R Baby Foundation’s proven emergency healthcare programs for babies and children in the United States and beyond its borders. I was able to dance and hang out with friends Kristin of My Strange Family, Lauren of A Mommy in the City, Jill of Glamamom, Divina of Dancing Hotdogs and many more.

Since its inception, R Baby Foundation has raised over $7 million towards critical improvements in pediatric emergency education, training and equipment at the nation’s top hospitals and children’s hospitals including CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia), Yale University Medical Center, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, Mt. Sinai, Johns Hopkins, Denver Children’s Hospital and many more. While funding programs at top children’s hospitals, R Baby also supports education and training for the hundreds of doctors in non-children’s hospitals nationwide to ensure that babies and children are cared for in *any* emergency department. R Baby has made tremendous strides towards nationwide standardization of pediatric emergency rooms including lobbying for a clear definition and system-wide benchmarks.

Whenever I’ve we’ve needed emergency care for my children (we’ve been to the ER with Skylar 3 times in the last two years, I always make sure it’s a pediatric er –and asked the ambulance to take me to one. I really believe that’s what’s best for my child.

Thank you to R Baby for inviting me as an influencer.
