Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter or plant based buttery spread
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup Steel Oats I try to use organic if possible
  • 1 apple I used an organic medium-sized gala apple - you can leave this out and add another fruit before cooking or after cooking. If you love bananas in your oatmeal, I'd recommend adding them afterwards
  • Cinnamon to taste also optional
  • After your Oatmeal is made you can add milk or a milk alternative (like almondmilk or coconut milk) and either maple syrup, sugar free maple syrup or stevia.
  • This makes 2 servings. Feel free to double or triple it it if you need more servings.

Instructions

  • Add the butter/buttery spread to your instant pot.
  • Then add water and then the oats. Stir.
  • Then add cinnamon and apple. Stir
  • Then close your Instant Pot and make sure you turn the dial to sealing. Select manual high pressure and set for 7 minutes. After the Instant Pot stops cooking, let it count up to 10 more minutes and then turn it off (this is a natural release). The pin should drop down and there should be no steam when you turn the lid and release your instant pot. If you are new to instant pot life, I would make sure you use an oven-safe silicone glove to make sure you are less nervous about opening a steaming pot (there will be no steam from your instant pot valve on this).
  • Your steel cut oatmeal should be perfect! Add your toppings and dig in.
