Little Bo Peep, the Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe, Jack and Jill and Little Miss Muffet – Mother Goose’s timeless characters – will all come alive this month in four family-friendly performances at the New York Theatre Ballet. The performance called Goose! is a perfect opportunity to introduce your kids to these classic poems if you haven’t already done so. (Read more after the jump)
Set to Vladimir Shinov’s original score, Keith Michael’s clever, fun-filled ballet follows the antics of beloved nursery rhyme characters that are all-too familiar to generations of Americans. By pairing the ballets of legendary creators with those of contemporary visionaries, NYTB brings a new understanding and appreciation of dance. The approach to live performance for children is groundbreaking and unique and tailored to the attention span of young audience members, while offering high production values and clever choreography sophisticated enough for discerning parents.
Goose! is one hour long with no intermission and is appropriate for children ages 3 and up.
