Upcoming Show: Dances Patrelle’s The Yorkville Nutcracker

11/17/2022 by Maytal

There is nothing like watching live shows, and when it comes to a lavish production like Dances Patrelle’s The Nutcracker ballet, watching in-person the elegant dance moves, the dazzling sets and the colorful costumes is a one-of-a-kind experience that is not to be missed. I have been seeing the show for years and it an absolute delight for people of all ages, from all walks of life; the show is simply uplifting and filled with joy.

This year will be the 26th anniversary of The Yorkville Nutcracker, set in 1895, which includes lavish sets and costumes and takes the audience on a tour through Olde New York’s most beloved landmarks, including a holiday party at Gracie Mansion, dancing at the Crystal Palace in the New York Botanical Garden, and skating in Central Park. The Yorkville Nutcracker provides an opportunity for young dancers to dance alongside professional artists. Courtesy of New York City Ballet, Miriam Miller of New York City Ballet will be Sugarplum for the first time with Dances Patrelle, and Jared Angle will return as Cavalier. Also joining the company are Maximilien Baud (Billy Elliot national tour, Joffrey Ballet School) as the Snow King, Grace Pierce (A Chorus Line national tour) as the Snow Queen, and Reed Tankersley (Twyla Tharp Dance Company) as the Snow Prince.
