<p>My family loves when I make Steel Cut Oatmeal. However, it takes a long time to make it on the stove &#8212; I used to make it in my slow cooker and loved it, but once I got my <a href="https://amzn.to/2Dl2p3l" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Instant Pot</a>, that became my favorite way to make it. It&#8217;s super easy and you only need a few ingredients and around 20 minutes or so to make it. I love to make apple cinnamon flavored steel cut oatmeal, so I add one diced up apple and a cinnamon to taste to it. However, if you want to add any other fruit, go for it. I&#8217;ve added frozen berries &#8212; either before or after I&#8217;ve cooked it, chopped almonds or walnuts, pecans, coconut&#8230;etc. You really can do anything you want! <span style="color: #ffffff;">Easy Instant Pot Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oatmeal</span><br></p>

<p>You&#8217;ll need steel cut oats, an organic apple or two, cinnamon to taste, butter or plant based buttery spread, and water. For toppings, you can use one of the apples, raisins, chopped almonds, pecans &#8212; whatever you want. I also add a little sugar free maple syrup or stevia. You can add another sweetener and some milk or milk alternative like almondmilk.</p>

<p>This recipe is based on <a href="https://recipes.instantpot.com/recipe/apple-and-cinnamon-oatmeal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Laurel Randolph&#8217;s Instant Pot Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oatmeal Recipe</a>, but I&#8217;ve made several modifications.</p>

<p>I prefer steel cut oatmeal over instant &#8211; and with the <a href="https://amzn.to/2Dl2p3l" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Instant Pot</a>, it is so simple. As in set it and forget it easy. I can&#8217;t screw it up. However, make sure you have time to actually make this &#8212; give it 25- 30 minutes.</p>

<p>It cooks for 7 minutes, but you have to let it get up to pressure and then do a natural release (and let it sit for 10 more minutes). There still may be a little pressure when the 10 minutes is up. Proceed carefully to turn the vent to sealing (ie. use a silicone glove).</p>

<p>This makes 2 servings. Feel free to double or triple it it if you need more servings &#8211; add a little more water (1/2 cup) if you do double or triple this. The sugar in the recipe info is from the apple and oatmeal. I usually add a zero calorie sweetener after.</p>

Select manual high pressure and set for 7 minutes. After the Instant Pot stops cooking, let it count up to 10 more minutes and then turn it off (this is a natural release). The pin should drop down and there should be no steam when you turn the lid and release your instant pot. If you are new to instant pot life, I would make sure you use an oven-safe silicone glove to make sure you are less nervous about opening a steaming pot (there will be no steam from your instant pot valve on this).</div></li><li id="wprm-recipe-72557-step-0-4" class="wprm-recipe-instruction" style="list-style-type: decimal;"><div class="wprm-recipe-instruction-text" style="margin-bottom: 5px;">Your steel cut oatmeal should be perfect!
