Some days being a mom is just exhausting. My apartment is never clean – two minutes after I organize, it looks like we had a toy explosion. And don’t get me started on potty training. It seems like we’ve been potty training my 4 1/2 year old for 2 1/2 years (wait, that’s completely correct). I left the diaper off him the other morning and sure enough, he peed EVERYWHERE and got it all over his floor and bed. It was so awful that I had to laugh. Because otherwise, I would cry. Can I get mad? I do get angry, but I did crazy things too as a kid. My parents tell me that I drew on their good chair with a marker when I was 3. And when I was 8, I cut my own bangs wayyyy to short (did I mention that my 9 year old cut my 7 year old’s hair last week?). So, for many of us, laughter proves the best medicine for keeping our sanity in these sticky situations. And Stephanie Blum may just be the prescription you need.
