When you live in a big city such as New York, street arts are an undeniable part of the street vibe and my family & I almost always stop to watch them, at least for a couple of minutes. They’re a lot of fun and usually very impressive. Imagine combining the best street arts performers you have ever seen into one show – and you get 360 Allstars, a group of performers from all over the world. This month the 360 Allstars are performing their coolest, most entertaining and most daring acts at the New Victory Theater and I had the chance to watch their performance.
The 75-minute show begins with a really cool introduction of each performer, telling where they’re from, what their talent is, and a special accomplishment they have done (believe me, these guys are very accomplished in their field!) And then there are the acts: amazing BMX flatlander tricks, fun beatboxing that makes you want to get up and dance, an incredible roue cyr wheel performer, b-boy breakdancing battles and basketball freestyle tricks I have never seen before.
The acts just kept getting better and better and both my older kids sat there with smiles and looks of awe at the performances. There’s live music and singing throughout the show, with some videos. The performance is recommended for kids ages 6 and up probably because there’s loud noise and lasers. My almost-six-year-old had no problem with the loud noise, he was just so happy to see the show was and impressed by the immense talent on stage, as was I. I could also hear the audience oohing and ahhing at every step. This was one long street arts performance we will never forget.
