I live in Kew Gardens, Queens and there is a 20 story hotel going up right behind my apartment building, which is right next to the underground parking garage I use everyday. Now I can’t stop that (this started in 2008 and has very negatively affected life in our neighborhood (here’s the NY Times article about it in 2008 http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/21/nyregion/thecity/21past.html), but it got worse. (Read More after the jump).
Today and last week, I was prevented from driving onto my block, which is at Queens Blvd and 82nd Avenue. While I didn’t get a picture at the time, I was forced to drive around the block and turn the WRONG way on 82nd Avenue to park. There was no choice if I wanted to get home.
This is the view from the opposite direction when I left my apartment at 1:30 PM on 4/17/13.
This is how I drive past the site everyday. Last week I was blocked also. No explanations, just “You can’t go this way”.
Anyone affected by this construction at Pasta Lovers?
