When my daughter was a baby I took her to the playground one day. She was perfectly fine, other than some noncontagious rash all over her body and as I was pushing the stroller I suddenly blinked and saw her in a different way – I saw her the way other moms at the playground would see her: a baby with horrible red dots all over her arms and legs. I felt a pit in my stomach knowing that anyone who saw her will likely move away from us but suddenly I blinked again and I saw her as I always see her: an utterly adorable, painfully beautiful child that’s simply perfect, to me.
This is how she will always be to me, even when I’m 90 and she’s 58. This is the beauty legacy I am leaving for her.
She is who I #FeelBeautifulFor.
