I recently attended Mom’s Night Out 2.0 hosted by Momtrends and had a blast meeting fellow bloggers and brands. I learned about the attractions at Williamsburg, VA, tried delicious PB & J sandwiches made with Jif, and rocked a new pair of New Balance sneakers. I also got a chance to see popular brands that new moms love: I got a preview of new swaddling products and tested out the Munchkin Step Pail. I’m excited to share what I learned this evening! Recap: Mom’s Night Out Event by Momtrends
Peanut Butter is a favorite in our household because it’s healthy plant-based protein and stores really well. I found out that Jif makes all-natural peanut butter that comes in mini on-the-go packets that you can throw in your kids’ lunchbox with some baby carrots for a nutritious snack.
Jif has a new program called “Imagine if, With Jif” that supports families who want to make the world a better place. The program aims to inspire kids to spread love with actions, no matter how big or small. From now until October 20th parents can submit their creative idea for making the world a better place. The winner will receive up to $30,000 to make their idea a reality. Note: we posted all about this recently – Click here for rules.
Although my babies are all grown, I’m always on the lookout for baby products since some of my friends have little ones at home. SwaddleMe has new additions, such as the SwaddleMe Kicksie – a legs-free swaddle that also makes changing diapers easy, as well as the SwaddleMe Footsie – a legs-free swaddle with footies, for colder weather.
SwaddleMe also has three gifts sets, just in time for the holiday season, or for an upcoming baby shower: The Essentials Gift set includes basic items such as blankets, burp cloths, and bibs, as well as the original Swaddle. The Baby Bath Gift Set has bath towels, washcloths, and a hooded bath wrap. The Little Lovey Gift Set includes a pacifier attached to a plush lovey, blankets, and the original Swaddle.
At the event, I got to try on a pair of super-comfy New Balance sneakers. I sampled the Fresh Foam Arishi shoe, which is ultra-cushioned and feels very lightweight and breathable. Although it feels light, it gives full support and keeps my feet snug so I can wear the shoe all day without straining them. Available at newbalance.com and other footwear retailers near you.
I remember those days when we had to constantly take out the trash because the smell of a dirty diaper was just overwhelming! The Munchkin Step Pail has a simple pedal so you can hold the baby with one hand and the diaper in the other. There’s a childproof locking system for curious older siblings and the best part is that once the lid is closed the bag is sealed shut in a patented technology for complete odor elimination. No wonder it’s the proven #1 in odor control! As an added bonus to the environment, for every diaper pail that is sold, Munchkin will plant a tree!
As a family of five, we have a budget so we tend to stick to local vacations that don’t require flying. Luckily there’s a lot more to discover in this part of the world, like Williamsburg, VA. Greater Williamsburg, which includes Jamestown, Yorktown and Williamsburg has a variety activities that make it the perfect destination for a multi-generational vacation. Check out the above photo – I made a collage at the event of what, in my opinion, are the best activities in Williamsburg.
At the event, I got to sample a delicious local Williamsburg wine with a hint of strawberry. Wine and beer tasting are some of the adult-geared activities in Greater Williamsburg. There’s also golf, archeology, and fantastic restaurants. Families with young children can enjoy the world’s most beautiful theme park, while older kids will enjoy the world’s largest living history museum and outdoor adventures, such as ziplining. There’s really something for everyone in Williamsburg!
Stay tuned for my upcoming post which will provide an in-depth look at Williamsburg’s top attractions!
