We got the chance recently to check out a kids performing workshop at Broadway Edge. I was excited, because I love acting (unfortunately other than a few plays in high school, I never got that far). Since my 7 year old really enjoyed the New Victory Theater Workshop we attended a couple of months ago, I thought he would have a blast. (Read more after the jump).
Unfortunately he got too shy to participate, so I didn’t push him and let him chill. I really wish he had participated because all the kids (and even adults) had a blast. Erin of MamaDrama asked him to be photographer and videographer – she handed him her iphone and my shy kid got to play paparazzi.

I was very impressed watching the instructors work with the kids.
By the end of the workshop, they were able to perform Hard Knock Life from Annie!

Check out the finished number – this was after 2 hours! It was amazing how much the children learned about performing a musical number in such a short time.
If you’re in the NYC area and have a child who’s really interested in improving their performing skills, Broadway Edge is perfect for them. http://www.getthebroadwayedge.com/
Thank you to MamaDrama and BroadwayEdge for inviting us to sample a workshop.
