My family and I attended the Pumpkin Picking and Pancakes event at David Burke Kitchen today. When we arrived, we went up to outside patio at the Treehouse Bar, which was decorated with Jack O’ Lanterns, corn stalks, gourds and a carved pumpkin totem pole. There was also a pumpkin patch, and each child was able to pick a pumpkin to decorate. A master carver was on hand designing pumpkins and giving out tips and tricks to the older children on how to carve a pumpkin. All the kids had a great time decorating their pumpkins and playing in the pumpkin patch was also a lot of fun. Even David Burke decorated pumpkins with the kids. (Read more after the jump).
After decorating pumpkins and playing in the pumpkin patch, we headed downstairs to the restaurant for Brunch. The Brunch menu features many different items to please even the pickiest eater. The Yogurt Parfait seemed to be a favorite of many of the diners, as well as the Very Berry Pancakes. The special pancake social menu was also available featuring the short stack of pancakes for $5. While there is no kid’s menu, the many children present seemed to find things off of the regular menu or the pancake social menu. There are also breakfast smoothies available which my kids really liked.
David Burke Kitchen might be thought of as an adult-only, special occasion restaurant, but weekend brunch is great for the entire family. Mom and dad will be able to get more upscale food, while the kids can still get food that they know and love.
