We love our Nintendo Wii, so I was excited when I attended a luncheon with GameStop and Techlicious this week. Held at the scrumptious Sarabeth’s, we got the scoop on tech consumption and how GameStop can help make things a little easier.
Plus Joy Behar was sitting two tables over — I wonder if she found the lunch as interesting as we did?
My family and I are at the point where we are wondering if we should upgrade to the Wii U or switch to XBox. My eight year old loves playing LEGO Wii games and the new Marvel game is not available on the system we currently have. The cost was stopping us from even considering an upgrade. Plus, what would we do with our current Wii? I was excited to hear that GameStop has a trade in program — you can bring in your used console (even if it’s broken) and get money off to upgrade to a newer system.
So, that means instead of $299 for a Wii U, we could get some money to put towards it and make sure our existing Wii doesn’t head to the landfill. Score! Granted, it’s not going to pay for most of it, but it’s something. Plus we have loads of games to trade in.
If you are a member of their PowerUp Rewards Pro Program, you get 10% extra in-store credit when you trade games and accessories. Systems are not eligible.
You can also trade in games. Which is also great when your kids stopping playing the game they begged you for last year.
What I also liked is that pre-owned games are guaranteed. The games are tested and you have 7 days from purchase to bring it back if you aren’t satisfied.
So, we just may upgrade to the Wii U sooner.
Thank you to GameStop and Techlicious for this event, I received a giftbag.
This is such good news! There are so many great games (Skylanders, Disney Infinity) that kids want to play at home, not just in the store and dream about playing at home. This option at Game Stop makes this dream a reality, without breaking mom and dads pocket book! Thanks so much for posting this info.!
