Review: Fit Mommy-to-Be Prenatal Yoga with Hilaria Baldwin

10/19/2013 by The Mama Maven

prenatal yoga DVD hilaria baldwin

Everyone I talk to says I have to try prenatal yoga! I took classes in a studio and thought it was nice and relaxing, but it didn’t work too well with my schedule, i.e. going to bed early. When I got the Fit Mommy-to-Be Prenatal Yoga DVD I was super excited because this meant I could continue doing yoga but on my own time and in my own space.

Hilaria Baldwin’s prenatal DVD can be separated into a few different sections: Back Relief (23min), Hip Openers (23min), Express De-Stress (13min) and Bonus Partner Stretches (5min). You can watch each section individually if you have a time constraint or want to focus on a specific area, or you can watch them all in sequence. You can also choose to watch each segment with or without an introduction. (My favorite part of the DVD is the partner stretches. They feel so good!! Plus, you get to see Alec Baldwin.)

Each segment has traditional prenatal yoga moves that you’d find in a normal class. There are three people showing you the poses, one who is in an early pregnancy stage (no bump), another in probably the last trimester (very large bump), and Hilaria who performs moves for someone with a smaller bump or who is at an advanced level. This is nice because it allows you the option to use the DVD throughout your entire pregnancy with modified poses.

Hilaria does a good job of describing the poses to you and it’s easy to follow along. As far as equipment is concerned, depending on what stage of pregnancy you are in you will need a pillow, yoga blocks and a yoga mat.

The Mommy-to-Be Prenatal Yoga DVD is available for purchase on Amazon.

Thank you to RLJ Entertainment for sending me their product for review. No compensation was received.
