Everyone’s favorite dog is back, this time in the Theater District. Dog Man The Musical, the show about the beloved dog-man hybrid whose mission is to fight crime, is playing at New World Stages this spring. The endearing superhero, based on the best-selling book series by Dav Pilkey (of “Captain Underpants” fame) is the star of a laugh-out-loud funny musical that appeals to both kids and parents alike.

In the show, Dog Man must catch Petey, the world’s most evil cat, who has managed to clone himself. He must also save the city from being taken over by Flippy, the cyborg fish. Yes, there is a lot of nonsense and the jokes fly a mile a minute – even parents will find themselves chuckling along with their children.
All jokes aside, though, the show does have an important message to the viewers: both evil characters, Petey and Flippy, realize in the end that being kind and doing everything with love is the way to be and so they change their ways.

The show is approximately 90 minutes with intermission. It is appropriate for kids in elementary school, age five and older.
