I’ve been a Coinstar Kiosk user for a long time now — ever since I moved in with my now husband in 2003. I grocery shop at Stop & Shop in Forest Hills, NY, and use the Coinstar Kiosk every few months, when our change cup at home fills up. I found out that Coinstar is now offering No Fee Stop and Shop Gift Cards! This is big, because you either get the cash voucher and pay the fee (which is small, but still) or you get a gift card to a different store. Since they started offering gift cards, I usually choose from Starbucks, Amazon, or Babies R Us/Toys R Us.
We were at my father’s house on Long Island on Saturday, when we stopped off to use the Coinstar Kiosk. I was hoping to choose the option for the No Fee Stop & Shop Gift Card.
But alas, the Coinstar Kiosks were not ready for me yet.
I could either get a gift card from other retailers or get a cash voucher (with the fee). So, feeding my massive caffeine habit, I chose to go for the Starbucks Gift Card (but I really, really wanted to get the Stop & Shop Gift Card!).
I hope that it’s up and running in the next few weeks! It will definitely help my weekly grocery store spending! Cashing in my coins got me $34.78 in a Starbucks Gift Card.
