I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined Netfix’s Stream Team. We became members of Netflix this summer (I’ll admit it was to watch Arrested Development), and we stayed members because we really liked the mix of movies and television shows. My favorite part is that there is a Netflix Kids channel, so if my oldest child, Ben, is watching Netflix and wants to pick his own movie or TV show, he does not see the adult shows that are on the regular Netflix channel.
I will be posting on how to get the most out of Netflix and ways to use the content off line…
One thing I love is movies and tv shows based on beloved books.. Here are some great suggestions for movies to watch with kids, that are based on books.
Big Kids
1.Hugo 2.Escape to Witch Mountain NEW! |
For bigger kids, you can watch the Hunger Games now, before the sequel hits on November 22.
As a teacher, I would use movies and shows based on books as a springboard for lessons and activities.
Personalize your child’s room with his or her favorite story book pages, with these book-covered letters from The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Go to Klscrafts learn how to make your own.
Thank you to Netflix, which supplied me with a year’s subscription to the streaming service and an Apple TV in exchange for being on their Stream Team.
